About Us

I am James Mckenzie and I am the President and Lead instructor of my company. I have been in the fire service since 2016 with Fuquay-Varina and Buies Creek Fire Departments. I discovered fire service and jumped in full force in an effort to learn as much as I could about something that reminded me so much of my time in the US Army. I am a retired Air Traffic Controller from Ft. Bragg with 30 years of service 10 of which was with the Army as a soldier. 

I have been teaching in some form or another for nearly 30 years. I taught air traffic, NBC (Nuclear, Chemical, Biological) Operations, Basic soldier skills among other subjects in the military. In the Fire Service I am a qualified Hazardous Materials Awarness and Operations Instructor as well as a certified Technician. I also hold the Emergency Vehicle Driver Qualification although I do not currently teach the class. I also provide American Heart Association Basic Life Saver and Heart saver CPR and AED educational programs for Health Care Providers or the general public. I have developed two programs myself, Drone Knowledge part 107 Test Prep and Alternative Fuel Vehicle: Anatomy and Physiology.

I find teaching to be a very rewarding profession nothing compares to teaching a class and all of your students achieving the goal of passing their test at the end. I really enjoy seeing the light come on when the subject all of a sudden clicks and they get it.
